No, read the book and decide for yourself

Have a read of the following article. It's a really good article about why the current Christian uprising in the US is fundamentally flawed as it doesn't actually teach the message of love and forgiveness that is central to the whole Jesus / Christianity movement.

Personally, I've been saying this for years. There's a huge gulf between what the biblical Jesus taught and consequently what should be expected as a doctrine for Christians to follow and what most Christians, especially the more vocal contingent, perceive as the rules for entry into 'heaven'.

I feel that the problem with this is that the majority of these vocal Christians don't read the bible or study its message and make their own decisions about the message of the text, they rely on a 'preacher' to tell them what to think about what' in the bible and these preachers have their own agenda to push as the 'word of God / Jesus'.

God vs the gun

There's quite a nice article about homicide rates amongst people of varying depth of religious association. Have a read.

Kiss my no-longer-missing link!

Discovered: the missing link that solves a mystery of evolution.

I think the title says it quite nicely. Yay for perseverence. As I've said before, just because we don't have the answers right now doesn't mean that the answer automatically is "God did it". It just means that we don't have the answers right now.
